This is minor bug fixes and feature enhancements release. The main change is the ability to place Message elements in the Data Dictionaries where they can be referenced by many Operations from unrelated Services.

Can MetaBoss be used with JRE instead of JDK?

Subject:  Can MetaBoss be used with JRE instead of JDK?

Generally speaking the answer is no, it can not.

In order to use all features of the MetaBoss tool suite one needs to have JDK installed. This is because java compiler and some other parts of JDK are required and JRE, being a run-time environment only, does not include these required parts.

However, MetaBoss Design Studio at the moment does not use any modules from the JDK and therefore can be configured to use JRE. This may be useful for designer, who uses only Studio and never generates code or builds the system. It also may be useful to someone who just wants to have a quick look at MetaBoss (eg. study the beginners example).
